Lustena vs Harmonic Security
Harmonic Security governs how your workforce uses AI across web, desktop and agentic workflows, enforcing data rules through a browser extension, an endpoint agent and a local MCP gateway. Lustena starts from the agent: every agent gets a named owner and versioned limits, with on-device data classes and evidence for GDPR, the EU AI Act and ISO/IEC 42001 built in.
When to pick each
Lustena or Harmonic Security
Lustena
Harmonic
Pick it when
Lustena
You need an owned inventory of every agent, from custom GPTs and Claude projects to code agents, with limits per agent and evidence for GDPR, the EU AI Act and ISO/IEC 42001.
Harmonic
Your priority is data protection on AI use across web, desktop apps and MCP traffic, with semantic classification across a very wide app catalog.
Governance
Lustena
Versioned limits per agent in six dimensions: tools, MCP servers, hosts, data classes, autonomy and schedule. Crossed limits reach your channels through webhooks.
Harmonic
Allow, warn, redact and block policies across 1,000+ apps, with identity enrichment from Entra, Okta or Google Workspace.
Security
Lustena
Twelve data classes classified on the device, including email addresses, payment cards, API keys, private keys and national formats such as Brazil's CPF and CNPJ, and Brazilian phone numbers. Findings are content-free; warn, block or redact per data class on the Enterprise plan. A red-team scanner runs ten agent-native checks mapped to the OWASP LLM Top 10.
Harmonic
Semantic classification of sensitive data. In Harmonic's words: "We do not red team your homegrown models and we do not manage agent credentials."
Observability
Lustena
Sessions per app, team and agent, model and volume per agent through the SDK and the LiteLLM connector, one audit trail and evidence packages for GDPR, EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF, AIUC-1 and LGPD.
Harmonic
Visibility into AI use across web, desktop and agentic workflows, enriched with identity from your directory.
Deployment
Lustena
A browser extension published by policy through Google Admin, Microsoft Intune or Jamf; most teams see their first agents within an hour. Nothing is installed inside the agents. Self-hosted and SSO on the Enterprise plan.
Harmonic
Three enforcement surfaces: browser extension, endpoint agent and local MCP gateway. Explore, Guide and Command tiers.

Frequently asked questions
What is the main difference between Lustena and Harmonic Security?
Harmonic is organized around data: it classifies what people send to AI and enforces allow, warn, redact or block across web, desktop and MCP. Lustena is organized around the agent: every agent has a named owner and versioned limits, and data findings attach to that agent.
When is Harmonic Security a better choice than Lustena?
When desktop AI apps and MCP traffic are as important to you as the browser, and you want one vendor enforcing data policy on all three surfaces with semantic classification. Lustena is browser-first: desktop AI apps are covered by a desktop collector on the Enterprise plan, and Lustena does not run an MCP gateway.
Does Lustena red-team agents?
Yes. The scanner runs ten agent-native checks mapped to the OWASP LLM Top 10 against endpoints you are authorized to test, and attaches the report to the agent in the inventory. Harmonic states that it does not red team homegrown models.
Does Lustena read prompt content?
No, not by default. Classification runs on the device and findings are content-free: categories, counts, destinations, channels and HMAC fingerprints. Opt-in redacted capture is an Enterprise plan feature.
Which compliance frameworks does Lustena map to?
Evidence packages map to GDPR, EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF, AIUC-1 and LGPD. Personal data classes, including national identifiers such as Brazil's CPF and CNPJ, are classified on the device. Lustena prepares the evidence; independent assessors certify, and Lustena does not claim certifications it does not hold.
